It is best to report claims as soon as possible. Be sure to save all documentation that relates to your claim. We suggest taking pictures of you home and the contents and keeping them in a separate safe place. That is not required but may help if you have a claim. If your claim involves anything criminal be sure to get a police report. If you don’t know your policy number please call our office at 281-537-2700 for that. Remember that all policies have deductibles. If you have a very small loss it may be best not to make a claim if it is less than your deductible.
The best time to think about a claim is before it happens. Know your policy. If you have any questions about coverage or deductibles ask your agent before you have a claim. We suggest reviewing your policy coverage at least once a year. Home values usually increase over time so your coverage should increase as the value goes up. It is also good to re-evaluate your liability coverage amount as your net worth and/or exposure increases.
